AT CHARMOUTH FOSSILS


Commencing  preserving and preparing the fossil of Mary the ichthyosaur. The first report by Tony dated Thursday 10th August 2000.

 
Preparing and preserving the giant ichthyosaur at Charmouth Fossils. Pete Langham starts on the first jaw nudule of Mary the ichthyosaur. He is using a small compressed air driven chisel to remove rock from the upper jaw bone. This is a very delicate and time consuming operation.

The jaws will now go in the acid tank to dissolve out unwanted rock.
