Report number 4 - on 4th July 2001 |
We can now show you the partially exposed jaws and
skull. Acid is now being used to remove the rest of the deposited stone. This is one piece of jaw after a few days in the acid tank. The pieces can only be put in the acid for a few hours at a time, then have to be cleaned in fresh water. Newly exposed bone is covered with a sealer to stop the acid attacking it. We hope to have the jaws on display at the Fossil Roadshow at Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre on the 26th August. |
